Eat Less Meat: It's Costing the Earth (Part 2 of 2) Print E-mail
Part 2 of the documentary discussing why excessive meat consumption has been called "one of the gravest threats to the long-term sustainability of humankind" by leading environmentalist Jonathan Porritt. In this important video he - and other reformers, such as Vandana Shiva - make the case for reducingmeat consumption to promote a healthier diet or to halt the inexorable global growth of 'factory farming' of animals.
A challenging video which will surely stimulate debate and discussion about one of the greatest - as yet unpublicised - threats to the future of the Earth.

Water Footprint

On World Water Day (22nd March) and on every other day, for that matter, we need to remember that meat-eating carries a giant water footprint.
Did you know? It takes 13 million litres of water to raise and convert one cow or ox into meat!
Did you know? To produce one portion of beef (250g) requires the same amount of drinking water that one person needs (at one litre a day) for 34 years of life!
