In Search of Kind Food - Spotlight on Pigs (Part 1 of 2) Print E-mail
Wednesday, 29 August 2007

kindfood1of2As consumers, we trust that the animals that provide our food, have led lives worth living. Wrong! Most have lived lives in hell.

This video features Professor Wangari Maathai, the first woman in Africa to receive the Nobel Peace prize, 2005.

On the rights of animals, she says: "Respect them, protect them, speak for them."

Water Footprint

On World Water Day (22nd March) and on every other day, for that matter, we need to remember that meat-eating carries a giant water footprint.
Did you know? It takes 13 million litres of water to raise and convert one cow or ox into meat!
Did you know? To produce one portion of beef (250g) requires the same amount of drinking water that one person needs (at one litre a day) for 34 years of life!
